Aleksandr Zhornitskiy was born in Kiev, Ukraine, where he received his primary and secondary education. From 1985, Alex studied Art in all of its forms, culminating in a victory at a Kiev’s “Young artists” competition. As his art’s studies continued, Alex enrolled in the School for Advanced Studies for the study of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science. He graduated with honors in 1998. The same year, at the age of 16, he moved to the United States.

In 1999, after taking classes at the Art Students League of New York, Alex enrolled in Pratt Institute, School of Architecture, Brooklyn, New York, to further his studies in a five-year professional degree program.

After graduating in 2004 with honors, Alex worked in the field of Architecture with various firms to gain practical experience, while tutoring students at Pratt Institute. In 2008, Alex became a full time tutor fulfilling a key role in assisting students at Pratt institute. Alex’s tutoring work is considered very valuable and highly successful by the faculty and administration.
